This plant grows vigorously in an upright but spreading or open manner. New leaves are brownish maroon to almost red in colour while the large mature ones are dark green in color with a touch of red. The plant’s leaf petioles remain reddish purple to bright right with long-lasting petiole sheaths.
This no-nonsense, easy-care plant is an indestructible houseplant that filters indoor toxins from the air. ‘Hope’ is a “self-heading” (non-vining) variety of philodendron with an upright growth habit. The large lobed leaves add a tropical flair. Grow in bright indirect light near an east or south window. Water when the top of the soil feels dry. Hope is approx 40cm from base of plant. I have styled this with the Blue Herringbone Pot.
